Shit Philly Says

I've been busy lately. A certain internet meme struck a cord with me. "Shit x Says" videos. I saw that they started to be made in certain cities. I naturally looked to see if one had been made for Philadelphia. Philly being the bastard city that it is (I saw that with so much love) there was not a video for the city. So what did I do.

I made a video for the city in which I live. Please enjoy

My first music video to hit 10k views.

Just wanted to post a small little update. Been cracking away at Corbin. But the music video that I shot over the summer has just passed 10k views. That is pretty dam skippy.

That is all for now. For old times sake give it another lookie.

I don't often like posting just youtube videos. But this one is amazing. I know most of you already know how amazing Carl Sagan is but holy balls. Also, I miss Bill Nye.

Ask Brent: Youtube view counts & #filmswithbrent

Brent I keep watching your Ancestor video but the view count doesn't go up. I'm trying to help but it doesn't seem to be doing much. What's going on? (Via, twitter, email, facebook, and IM)

Well simple way to answer this. Thank you for viewing my video multiple times. Means the world and keep watching the video when you get a chance. The best anwser I seemed to find was coming from a google employe themselves. (via Google Support)

Recently we have seen questions about why some YouTube video view counts "freeze" around 300 views. To help prevent confusion, we wanted to post a quick explanation of what's going on. View counts are extremely important to our community, so we work hard to ensure those view counts are accurate.  Occasionally, when a video becomes popular quickly, it takes our computers longer to make sure those views are accurate. This means a video's viewcount may not update for several hours, sometimes allowing ratings and comments on the same video to climb temporarily higher than the views.  So if you see your video views aren't moving, or that your video's comments and ratings are moving faster than your views, don't worry. If you're still getting views, the count should update soon.

If that didn't make much sense to you your not alone. I well aware that my video count (as of writing) is frozen at 785. I know that people have been watching it this morning and afternoon. Google does some sort of wicked magic to determine that bot nets aren't going to town and making the view counts mean nothing. Its simply one of those things that when it comes to tech I just treat as black magic and don't even try to understand it. Now video codecs that is a dark art I love even though it confuses the living shit out of me.

Video Contest Progress

We are making good headway. As I write this we are in fourth place with 482 views. While this is great we are not out of the woods yet.

Still have quite a long road ahead of us and this is now way close into locking this. After June 14th the videos are locked in. Then we have keep pounding the views until July 7th you will no doubt hear form me again and again on this matter. But we can make this happen.

You all have doing great and i'm going to have to ask you to keep fightingthe good fight. If you are so inclined please feel free to blog about the video, tweet, facebook, or email it to all of your friends.

I am asking you to do this because I know not believe, but know that if I make it into the top 5. It will have the best shot at not only winning but making a lasting impression on the judges. These Judges are extremly important to read about them more click here. While your there you might as well watch my video again. Thats right I said it.
