Tradition/Classics
Friday, December 9, 2011 at 7:40 Today's XKCD really hit home for me. I've always felt a bitterness for many things of the past. Never been one to say'I wish things would go back to the way they were'. It's just not who I am.
In high school most of my teachers gave me a vibe (when it came to film) that the best has be done and that's that. This is my main reason that I do not like Citizen Kane. Now since then I've gain a appreciation for that film but I will never like it. Nor willingly watch it. Don't get me wrong there are some classics that I love but I would never say that it can't be bested that someone today couldn't make something better. I feel that is just far to short sighted world view.
But yet it seems to be such a big way the world works. I just can't understand it. I know I know it's the old guard defending them selves. But I don't want to take the old guard. They can keep what they do that's fine that's not what I want to do.
I'm going to make my own Phalanx
